What is #500Stars?
For many pregnancy is a time of joy and wonder – but for some, it's cruelly interrupted. At Mummy's Star, we're the only charity in the UK & Ireland to support women and families affected by cancer during or just after pregnancy.
We've just celebrated our 5th birthday, in which time we've helped 500 families. Now we want to help even more families with our #500Stars campaign.
So we're inviting 500 supporters to donate and place a virtual star on our Supporter's Wall to help us continue our hard work here at Mummy's Star!

Helen's Story
"I noticed the lump on my nipple when I was 6 months pregnant with my second child. Being diagnosed with cancer when you're pregnant is surreal. My low risk, relaxed pregnancy became a whirlwind of terrifying tests and scans."
"It was decided I should have surgery to remove the lump. The cancer was successfully removed & after an induced labour at 37 weeks, I got to meet my son. I had to undergo treatment for the first 6 months of his life. It was tough combining chemo with caring for a newborn, but Mummy’s Star supported me."
"Since October, I am cancer free & enjoying life. My little star, Arlo, just turned 1."
The charity's encouragement, practical tips & emotional support kept me going in treatment. Suddenly, I was part of a fantastic community of mums all facing the same challenges.
Helen, Diagnosed at Six Months Pregnant
What could my star provide?
Each virtual star given by you will make a real difference to our families' lives. Just £5 can help pay for hospital parking while mum attends an appointment. A £10 donation can afford a cleaner, whilst a mum gets a well deserved rest.
A £20 donation could provide half a day's childcare whilst mum has chemotherapy, and a gift of £40 could pay for an hour's session of private counselling to discuss mum's physical and emotional health.
For £100, the cost of return travel to hospital for treatments could be covered.
