What is Donr?

Donr is a news and media website dedicated to bringing you the most interesting, inspirational and up-to-date content from the UK’s charity sector. You can even donate to your favourite cause using our industry-leading technology, if the organisation has chosen to partner with us.

Can I donate to a charity via Donr?

Yes! If they have chosen to partner with us, you can donate to your chosen cause on our website using a credit or debit card or by using your mobile phone. When donating using your phone, your donation amount will be added to your mobile bill.

Can I set up a regular monthly donation?

Yes! You can set up a monthly donation using your mobile phone. Simply select your chosen donation amount and click ‘Yes, Donate Monthly.’

I’d like to stop my monthly donation; how do I do that?

No problem – to end your monthly donation, just text the word ‘STOP’ to 89365 using the mobile device you used to set the monthly donation up.

How do I know if my donation has been successful?

Donating via credit or debit card: Once you have successfully donated, you’ll receive an email receipt confirming the details of your donation. You’ll also be shown a confirmation page on your browser. Donr and your donation amount will also be shown on your credit or debit card bill.

Donating via mobile: Once you have successfully donated, you’ll receive an SMS confirmation containing the details of your donation. You’ll also be shown a confirmation page on your browser. Donr and your donation amount will also be shown on your mobile bill.

How are my donations transferred to the charity?

Donr makes regular secure transfer to charities of all donations collected on their behalf.

Do you charge a fee to collect donations for charities?

We take a 5% fee from each donation made on Donr, inclusive of all card handling fees. This covers the costs of maintaining our technology and ensures we can continue to bring better online donations to more charities.

What sort of thing do you pay for with your 5% fee?

Here's an overview of what we provide for our fee:

  • We offer assistance and advice to charities on how to best utilise our website and technology to raise the most they can.
  • We provide customer service on behalf of charities; answering calls, emails and social media messages from those who have already donated or who have any questions about using Donr.
  • We give charities access to detailed analytics tools and help them to understand how their campaign is performing.
  • We invest in building new online tools that help small charities with their fundraising activities.
  • We pay the card processing fees to the credit card company. These are typically around 1.5%
