Cyclists preparing to saddle up for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance 10th annual Colne Valley Cycle Ride with early-bird rates still available

Whether you’re looking for a casual family ride or something a little more challenging, there’s a route for you at this year’s Colne Valley Cycle Ride, brought to you, as always by the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, sponsored by MDS Civil Engineering Ltd.

Cyclists keen to enter the race have until Wednesday 25th April to register and receive the early-bird discounted rate of £17. The event itself will take place on Sunday 29th April.

There’s going to be something for everyone on the day – families looking for a casual outing can enjoy a three-mile jaunt around the cricket pitch at Earl’s Colne Business Park, while those looking to stretch their legs a little further can take on routes of 20, 50 or 80 miles around the rolling hills of the Essex countryside.

‘Our annual cycle ride is a fantastic way to get together with friends and family in the sunshine and enjoy the fresh air,’ said Jen Wall, the Events Manager at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. ‘There is a route for everyone so come along and join us – we look forward to seeing you there!’

While the individual early bird tickets are available for all routes for £17, separate ticket options for teams of up to five cyclists are available and mean that these teams do not need to raise additional sponsorship. Ticket prices on the day, meanwhile, are up to £20 – up to three under 14s go free when cycling with a full paying adult.

Registration opens at 7:30am on the day for the 80, 50 and 20-mile routes with rides starting at 8am, 8:30am and 9am. Registration for the family ride opens at 9am, with cyclists setting off at 9:30am.
